Moved wings to airport - Move completed!
Finished moving the project to the airport with getting the wings over there. Took us two trips with one wing each trip. Kind of risky with them laying out in the open. I am surprised we did not encounter falling objects along the route. Nerve-racking, but it is done! Thanks to everybody that helped!

At the airport with with second wing. No incidents to report during the move.

Moved project to the airport
Moved my project to the airport today. Pam and kids, and my brother, William, helped me move the fuselage. The trip from my workshop to the airport was about 3.5 miles and took us over 25 minutes. We were driving about 5 miles and hour. It was nerve wracking, but everything worked out just fine. Pam drove in her car behind me to provide a traffic buffer. We got a bunch of stares along the way.

We have arrived at the airport - unscathed!

Seats arrived!
Got my seats in from ClassicAero Designs. Love the smell of leather! I installed the seat backs in the fuse and test fitted the seats. Of course I had to sit in them to see how it will feel. Now if I can just get back to working on the canopy!

Trudging further with the slider canopy frame
Got busy on my slider canopy frame. Been taking too much time off lately. Bent the forward left canopy bow forward some using 2x4s covered with rags to pad the frame; I isolated the forward bow at the center weld and the left side rail welds with the wood blocks. Worked really well and I got most of the gap out so that it more closely matches the right side bow when in place against the roll bar. Not perfect but I've got to move on. Also removed some bend in the forward bow to try and get the right sides skin-to-slider rail 1/16" distance...will continue this tomorrow.

"Un-bending" the frame a bit to get the width right. Trial and error, & etc...

Trutrak auto pilot arrived!
My Trutrak ADI Pilot II arrived today! I saved $200 by ordering it now with the Young Eagles discount. Now I need to start working on my panel layout again.

Worked on the elevator fiberglass tips
Trimmed the excess off the elevator fiberglass tips and test fitted. Not much else to do but get a wing kit!

Sanding the elevator fiberglass tip edges smooth.
More sanding. Make sure to wear a face mask - lots of dust!
Test fitting the fiberglass tip. Looks great!
